Storm & Insurance
Helping Katy Homeowners Navigate Storm Damage & Insurance Claims
How the Insurance Process Works
- You file the claim. Contact your insurance provider to report the storm damage and open a claim. They'll assign an adjuster to your case.
- The adjuster inspects your roof. Their job is to assess the damage and determine what the insurance company will cover. Their initial scope isn't always complete.
- We meet with your adjuster. E.N.G. Roofing will be on-site during the inspection to make sure nothing gets missed. We document damage thoroughly and advocate for a fair scope of work.
- You receive an estimate. Once the claim is approved, we work from that estimate to complete your repair or replacement — with no surprise costs and no unnecessary upsells.
- We handle the work. From materials to final inspection, we manage the entire project so you can focus on getting your home back to normal.

What to Do After a Storm
Document everything immediately
Take photos and video of any visible damage — inside and outside — before anything is cleaned up or moved.
Avoid making permanent repairs right away
Temporary tarping is fine, but permanent fixes before the adjuster visits can complicate your claim.
Call your insurance company
Report the damage and open a claim as soon as possible. Most policies have deadlines.
Get a professional inspection before you accept any offer
Don't let the adjuster's first visit be the last word. An experienced contractor can catch what gets missed.
The Signs
Signs of Storm Damage
- Missing, cracked, or curling shingles
- Dents or bruising on shingles, gutters, or flashing — telltale signs of hail impact
- Granules from shingles collecting in your gutters or downspouts
- Damaged or displaced flashing around chimneys, vents, or skylights
- Water stains or damp spots on ceilings or in the attic
- Sagging areas on the roof deck
- Debris damage from fallen branches or wind-driven objects
If you’re seeing any of these after a storm — or you’re just not sure — don’t wait. Damage that looks minor on the surface can lead to serious interior water damage if left unaddressed.
